I have always loved skiing!

As a little girl, I can remember seeing the Olympic flag hanging up in our chalet. It was a flag that my mother got when she raced in the 1972 Olympics in Sapporo, Japan.

With my older brother and sister, Gavan and Lise-Marie, I loved being coached by our parents. Every morning of every cold Ontario weekend, our father would get us super excited to go skiing by playing Dire Straits music - full blast - or showing us videos of World Cup skiers racing down mountains.

My childhood summers, when skiing was not an option – were filled with gymnastics, swimming, water-skiing and soccer. Today, I still love to water-ski and to play golf or get out on my mountain bike.

Like my earliest childhood memories, today my dreams are still about ski racing. I have many goals and will keep racing towards them, especially representing Canada at the Olympics and World Cup races – wearing the flag of my country on my chest and feeling the pride just like my mom.

As my dreams unfold, I recognize that my family has had a positive impact on what I love to do today. They have encouraged me to live my life the way I have always hoped and dreamed it would be.

I guess you can say that I’m still the kid I was 10 years ago, racing with the same passion that always gets me GOING FASTER!
